 What is Aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy when used in massage is more than just a relaxing and pleasurable experience. It can help promote Healing and help the body regain balance.  It can help improve specific emotional and physical conditions such as PMT and menstrual problems, back pain, general aches and pains, insomnia, migraines, headaches, arthritis, stress, depression and many other physical and emotional complaints.

Each person is treated as an individual and a blend of oils will be tailored to the client’s own personal needs. A holistic approach is taken.  This means that I look at the whole person, their lifestyle, state of mind and any physical ailments they may be experiencing. The Therapeutic properties of the Essential oils that are chosen are specific to each client’s needs and will be blended with the client’s   needs in mind. An aromatherapy massage enables pure essentials oils to be absorbed through the skin (also via the sense of smell) into the bloodstream to the internal organs, aiding the body’s own natural healing mechanisms. The oils are blended into carrier oils such as grapeseed oil, Sweet Almond oil, Wheatgerm, or Evening Primrose oil. Depending on which carrier oil is best suited to the client.

Aromatherapy works on a physiological and emotional level, balancing the energies in the body and helping to promote natural healing and a feeling of wellbeing.  Through the application to the body and inhalation of 100% Pure Essential oils which are extracted from aromatic plants, it balances, relaxes, restores and rejuvenates and enhances the emotions and the spirit.

The principles of Aromatherapy are to help strengthen the body’s natural self-healing by stimulation of the immune system. There are many uses of pure essential oils from deep therapeutic massage to the holistic treatments of health problems to the application in beauty treatments. The pure essential oils used in aromatherapy are extracted from different parts of individual plants. Which include the petals, leaves, roots, bark, resin, berries
